You should speak your truth But do it gently And if you're unable to speak it gently Then you may speak it harshly But speak it harshly rarely And if you find yourself speaking it harshly often Then know it's not THE truth But if you find that you must speak a lie Speak the lie But speak it truthfully And if you find you must speak harshly often Then speak harshly often, gently I packed the good into the bad, The sense into the non sense Some truth into the lies A little gentleness into the harshness And God into the man And wrapped it up and gave it to you as a gift Don't entangle yourself in the wrapping Unwrap it.
